 Jon Perkins, a third-generation Santa Barbaran, graduated with a double-major from UC San Diego and has been in the real estate field since 1990. Experiences and contacts gained in the housing development and mortgage fields led him to partner with a 25-year veteran of the industry to start a residential sales and mortgage company in 1996. Three successful years later, Jon obtained his broker's license and directed his own residential sales and mortgage company before returning to Santa Barbara. He is now affiliated with Village Properties, a large boutique firm specializing in Montecito, Santa Barbara, and oceanfront properties.
A specialist in buyer representation, Jon has focused much of his business on buyer-side needs and negotiating; representing clients in purchases of MLS listed properties, for-sale-by-owner properties, and "pocket" listings. He provides exceptional and confidential service to local owners upsizing or downsizing, and recognizes the unique needs of second-home buyers and those considering relocating to the Santa Barbara area. Jon has earned advanced real estate designations only a small percentage of Realtors have, including having his California broker's license and his GRI designation (Graduate Realtor Institute).
While Jon is regularly asked to list properties for sale, he often recommends sellers to specific, well-qualified agents in town whose businesses are built around seller service. He knows many agents quite well and has been successful matching seller and agent personalities and goals. If a seller insists on Jon's involvement, as happens occasionally, he engages a co-listing agent at no additional cost to ensure the seller receives the best quality service possible.
